My foray into electrical stimulation started in my early teens, where I built crude but effective electro toys using bits of copper wire, salvaged power supplies, and aluminum foil. By the time I reached 16, I had quite a few pieces of gear to experiment with, all of which had to be hidden away from family eyes. One day, I saw a reprint of the 1900 Sears & Roebuck Catalog which contained a 2-page spread of the Battery Belts used to "cure all that ails you" by way of generating and applying the then-new powers of electricity.
I remember that day well -- I was literally shocked to see that something like this had already been invented almost 100 years ago! I instantly got hard thinking about building such a device and selling it in a business. But many years went by before I started building my own toys to sell commercially. In 1984, I entered college to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree and discovered that I had great difficulty concentrating on Calculus. So, naturally, I dropped out of school, all the while doing odd jobs around campus, and offering $250 memory upgrades to owners of the original Macs -- from 128K to 512K. Those were the days! By 1987, I was bored and back home in Maryland. An advertisement for the US Navy Nuclear Field program caught my eye and in less than 1 month, I was flying to Florida at midnight to start bootcamp. It was there that I learned the fundamentals of electronics and computers, of which could be later poured into new ideas involving electrical currents. Several years passed between leaving the Navy in 1990 and deciding to move to San Francisco from Maryland. I met new friends, some of which had used one of the early PES boxes that produced monotonous trains of pulses to power electrified buttplugs, cockrings, and the like. I realized that there must be a market for this stuff, even though I didn't see it in wide use. It served as another reminder of what had already been done with electrical stimulation, and that yes, I could do it too. During my work at a Veteran's Hospital as a computer technician, I worked with members of the biomedical engineering department who taught me about the important safety aspects built into each piece of medical equipment they installed and maintained. Ground path leakage currents. Isolation transformers. Things which add cost to the units, yet make them able to withstand years of abuse in a hospital and still remain completely safe when used as directed. (I was especially impressed by the internals of the Hewlett-Packard gear, which was designed by electronic gods, as far as I could tell.) I started SexTek in 1996 with the introduction of the original ElectroCup. Each unit was hand-crafted, with a layer of conductive paint applied to a semi-rigid Bike athletic hard cup and an elastic waistband/strap system to hold the cup in place while still allowing cock access.
After selling quite well, I decided to add the ElectroBands to the lineup, one new product idea I thoroughly enjoyed and which received high praise from everyone who tried them. The problems associated with poorly-fitting conductive acrylic or rubber cockrings were suddenly solved with the highly-conductive elastic fabric contained in the EBands. And they continue to offer the most comfort and conductivity for anyone's cock, no matter the size. With the ECup and EBands selling well, I invented an easier-to-insert anal probe called the FlexProbe. With its small 1" diameter stainless steel ball and flexible shaft, anyone could now experience the joy of internal stimulation. I shied away from the chrome-plating used by other e-stim manufacturers, choosing solid metals instead for their inherent durability and safety. I devoted myself fulltime to SexTek in 2001 and have since implemented a 100% secure customer order system hosted by NetSuite to allow for future growth and better customer relations. I partnered with ErosTek in November and became their top-level distributor, final assembly, and repair center. Combining our resources has benefitted our customers by eliminating the production dips which lead to backorders and unwanted frustration. A few years later, I acquired ErosTek and now offer the best power units on the market with some of the most useful and exclusive e-stim accessories available. As I look forward, the SexTek + ErosTek partnership has taken aim and is setting sail: To develop, manufacture, sell and support the highest quality erotic e-stim gear available. Come along!
